Free Constellation membership gives individuals and organisations access to the IB1 community tool, which includes notices on events, research, public consultation and bid calls. Join now at ib1.io.

IB1.io community tool

Access IB1’s community platform: create a profile and find experts across energy, water, finance, supply chains, and nature data. We’ll help you surface use cases, respond to bid calls and programme opportunities, including events, notifications, and direct member connections in one place.

Public consultation notifications

Receive notifications of public consultations, draft Scheme documents, and regulatory responses before they close: members who participate help shape the rules and policies that govern data sharing. NB: IB1 is not a lobbying organisation and follows standard antitrust principles.

Bid calls and programme access

IB1 runs a feed of active bid opportunities, Icebreaking programme calls, and use case development sessions directly on IB1.io. Free members receive the feed; members tagged with relevant expertise may be invited to specific calls – this is how new Icebreaking programmes find their founding collaborators.

Cross-sector learning

The Constellation connects people across sectors who would not usually meet: energy practitioners can share governance lessons with finance practitioners, water sector data architects can learn from supply chain implementations. Cross-pollination becomes possible when we have diversity of individuals, skills, interests and organisations in the Constellation.

How pricing works in practice: For early adopters and startups, we are open to pay-what-you-can approach. If you are unsure which tier fits, please contact us and we will help you understand what other members in similar roles have chosen. Champion tiers exist to recognise your engagement and to provide IB1 a small commitment before formal organisational membership is in place.

Commercial Constellation

The IB1 Commercial Constellation is the organisational complement to individual membership. Three distinct constellations, each with a clear function. All free to join. Benefits matched to role, not to spend.

Scheme Collaborators

Built around purpose, Corporates, SMEs, startups co-define, co-design and co-fund Schemes that meet their business needs. This work is supported by consultancies, legal firms, data architecture specialists, and ESG advisory companies to ensure world-class outcomes. Initiate or get early access to new Scheme designs, and co-brand case studies that showcase your organisation’s expertise.

Data Solution Builders

Startups, scale-ups, enterprise software, ESG analytics platforms, energy tech companies, and fintech firms who build products and services using Schemes. IB1 Assurability can be encoded directly into solutions, with machine-readable and visual quality marks, Open Net Zero listing, co-marketing, sandbox access for new Schemes, and branded use case publishing & wide distribution.

Sector Conveners

Trade associations, regulators, sector bodies, and academic institutions can convene communites around new or existing Schemes. IB1 provides the operational infrastructure, open governance and neutral, non-profit space for sector conveners to build legitimacy, increase reach, and support relationships that can transform ideas into adoption. NB: Steering and Advisory Group co-chair roles are drawn from across the Constellation.

Open Net Zero

Constellation members support the development of Open Net Zero, IB1’s global data catalogue at opennetzero.org, with over 68,000 datasets across energy, water, finance, transport, and nature data. Data Sensitivity Classifications, assurance levels, and licensing information can be applied across datasets. Members support by providing data to, and finding data from, this service. Member fees contribute to IB1 making this resource available for everyone.
