Naming conventions
Icebreaker One (or IB1 for short) is a non-profit working with industry and governments to make data work harder to deliver our net zero future.
Our name is Icebreaker One, not IceBreaker One, Icebreaker1, ICE Breaker1, or other creative interpretations. Icebreaker is always one word. We shorten to IB1 as that is the shortest version possible, and a rare three-letter domain name.
For reference: “An icebreaker is a special-purpose ship or boat designed to move and navigate through ice-covered waters, and provide safe waterways for other boats and ships.”
Net Zero usage
Today Net Zero is framed around carbon and greenhouse gas emissions. However, as we face multiple crises including biodiversity collapse, ocean acidification, and systems-wide pollution, the definition of Net Zero will likely expand.
Net Zero = net zero impact on our biosphere
As a noun, do not hyphenate: Delivering Net Zero.
As an adjective, hyphenate: We need to achieve net-zero emissions. Driving towards a Net-Zero Future.

Licence vs License
We use British/International English for ‘licence’ (as a noun) and ‘to license’ (as a verb). American English uses ‘license’ with an ‘s’ as both noun and verb.
International vs British English
We use International English for our services (such as Open Net Zero and Trust Framework). Policy and other content may vary by jurisdiction and context.
