Advisory Group 1: User needs & impact

Purpose:
AG1 focuses on defining and refining the use case and key user groups and understanding the user needs of each group. It also works to identify and document use cases for future development. AG1 ensures that user perspectives are integrated into technical, legal, and policy developments, fostering a user-centric approach across the Scheme.
AG1 2026 focus areas include:
- Refining the use case definition
- Defining user groups and their roles within the Scheme
- Understanding the user needs of different groups
- Understanding market needs and incentives for each user group (including but not limited to high level business and value cases)
- Co-defining the parameters of the initial Pilot, to go live Q1 2027
Outputs:
- Agreed refined use case definition and documentation (short report)
- Identification and logging of supplementary use cases
- Identifying opportunities for engagement and future testing of the Scheme with I&C energy consumers
- Actionable feedback from participants to drive continuous improvement.
- Contributions to end of year report
- AG1 co-chair reports progress, key decisions and risks
- Collaboration with other AGs to integrate user requirements into technical, legal, and policy frameworks
- Actionable feedback from participants to drive continuous improvement.
- Contributions to the 2026 report, including synthesised feedback and recommendations for the 2027 roadmap
- AG1 co-chair reports progress, key decisions and risks to the Steering Group
Recommended skills and expertise:
- Ability to identify and prioritise use cases aligned with strategic goals
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to engage with other AGs and stakeholders
- Expertise in commercialisation and product development cycle
- Skills in synthesising user feedback into actionable recommendations for programme improvement
- Meeting facilitation expertise for AG co-chairs (full AG co-chair role description separate)
Frequency of meetings: Quarterly, lasting 1-1.5hrs.
Advisory Group 2: Technical implementation

Purpose:
AG2 advises on the technical standards, specifications and infrastructure required to deliver the I&C flex use case (defined by AG1) and to operationalise the initial pilot.
AG2 2026 focus areas include:
- Mapping the data landscape, including any technical blockers
- Development of draft technical standards and specifications
- Co-defining the parameters of the initial Pilot, to go live Q1 2027
- Supporting the implementation of Scheme PIlot
Outputs:
- Data landscape map
- Short report on technical enablers and blockers
- Technical specifications required for Scheme pilot
- Contribute to the 2026 report
- AG2 co-chair reports progress, key decisions and risks
Recommended skills and expertise:
- Knowledge of building or operating financial, CNI, or similarly secure data processing environments
- Experience leading or advising on the architecture and implementation of at-scale online services
- Experience with standard systems, processes and technologies for integrating online services (for example REST APIs, OAuth, PubSub)
- Understanding of the implementation of services acting as data suppliers and/or data consumers
- Technical expertise in metadata publishing and maintenance, managing data catalogues, managing data
- Experience with technical policy and compliance

Frequency of meetings: Quarterly, lasting 1-1.5hrs.
